[Skin concerns] Waking up to dry, hot, red patches on my upper cheeks? | Kr Laser

I’ve been to two derms and both seem a bit confused on whether this is rosacea or not. For context, I damaged my moisture barrier about 10 months ago after washing my face with a harsh cleanser and hard tap water. My skin now fluctuates a lot throughout the day (sometimes looks great, sometimes becomes red and dried out), and now I’m experiencing these red, hot patches on my upper cheeks when I wake up. I know no one here can really diagnose me here, but it’ll be a while since I can see another derm – I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this? The redness goes away if I can be in a cool, humid environment and gets worse when the air is dry. The patch of dry skin on my left cheek (picture) has been there for about 6 months now, and comes and goes, though it’s been spreading in area recently.

I’ve tried a lot of things for dehydrated skin / damaged moisture barrier at this point (humidifier, hydrating toners, occlusives). My routine is now: AM and PM, wash with distilled water, cerave on damp skin, LRP cicaplast. If i don’t wash my face in the morning, my face becomes extremely dried out, red, and tight.

I’m thinking about adding an oil like squalane on top of LRP, or trying LED red light mask. I’m also wondering if the redness might be caused by demodex mites? Any help is appreciated!
