[Skin concerns] let's discuss 'irreparable' skin barrier | Kr Laser
published on Jan 21, 2020
I’ve noticed quite many posts recently where fellow redditors ask for help on their ‘irreparable’ skin barrier.
Their symptoms usually go along the lines of extreme dryness, dehydration, flaking, itching, redness yet being greasy, oily and breaking out all at once. Despite quitting actives and focusing on moisturising, nothing much changes.
Personally, there was a time when I also thought my skin barrier was irreparable. While it’s improved now, I know deep inside that if I stop my routine completely, the symptoms (dehydration, flaking, breakouts) will come back. Thus I don’t consider having ‘repaired’ my barrier, but more of having ‘controlled’ it
Redditors who have severely damaged your skin barrier, what caused it and how long did it take for you to repair it? How do you tell that your skin barrier is fully repaired? If you have any tips and tricks (other than Cerave and Vaseline which is often recommended), please do share!
