[Routine Help] Benefits of exfoliation on repairing moisture barrier? | Kr Laser
published on Jan 21, 2020
I’m in the process of repairing my moisture barrier. It’s been about 10 days so far and I’ve seen some improvement in the oiliness of my skin, however I still have a “shell” of dead skin that is visible whenever I wash my face. Afterwards my skin seems irritated (not from the cleanser) and I’m wondering if I need to exfoliate the dead skin for the moisturizer to be able to properly absorb.
Initially I thought that you were supposed to cut all actives to repair your moisture barrier, but now I’m reading an article that says that I may need to exfoliate this dead skin for the moisturizer to be able to fully sink in. Should I begin to incorporate an aha/bha again or keep doing what I am doing? If so, is BHA or AHA better for this?
Face wash – avene milk cleanser once a day
Moisturizer – CeraVe moisturizing lotion multiple times throughout the day
Spot treat with BP
Any help is appreciated! Thanks
