Troiareuke ACSEN Toc Toner

A fairly quick review for the Troiareuke ACSEN Toc Toner (at least compared to what I usually write haha!

This lightweight yet not completely watery toner features castor oil, chia seed extract, and chameleon plant extract. Sulfur and glycolic acid also make it onto the list for a formulation that is geared towards calming and mildly “clarifying” oily/sensitive skin.

The pump action bottle allows for the perfect amount to be applied to hands for patting in. Alternatively…Troiareuke recommends using this product with a cotton pad.

While I did find this toner to be surprisingly lightweight and easily absorbed (considering the oil content)…it never really left my skin feeling sufficiently hydrated or “chok chok”. Even when patting in the famous “seven skins” my skin always ended up feeling pretty much the same.

The glycolic acid and sulfur are fairly low on the list which makes sense for those with especially sensitive skin. But for me, this translated into not much happening after nearly three weeks of use.

Given the size (100ml) and how much I needed to apply to cotton pads or for all of those layers…I BURNED through this product. I have a bit left in my bottle but I doubt I will make it the full month with this one. Another slight bummer considering the price of $38.00 USD.

The lackluster results and smaller than what I would have hoped for size makes this something I don’t think I’ll be coming back to. Had the AHA percentage been a bit higher I could justify this as a “PM only” acid product…but the ACSEN Toc Toner just didn’t have what it takes.

Full Ingredients List: Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Dipropylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Propanediol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betula Alba Juice, 1,2-Hexanediol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

PS: I will be introducing another toner into my routine in the coming days that is even smaller in size than this one from Troiareuke. Keep in mind that I will be cutting that product a bit more slack as it is marketed as a mist…and for mist standards its size is average. Personally, I don’t use mists as they are always intended and go for them in my toner step. Just wanted to clear that up to avoid any confusion between my ding against the Troiareuke product…look out for that review in the coming weeks!
