[Acne] My face is 3 shades darker than the rest of my body. Still have lots of active acne and dark scars. I look muddy red and brown in the face and it is just so discouraging. Any advice? | Kr Laser

I just feel so self-conscious about my face. I have pale olive skin and the bright red pimples already contrast so much against my green-tinted skin. But on top of that, my entire face is somehow 3 shades darker than the rest of my body.

I used to treat my skin horribly by smearing on 5% benzoyl peroxide and 2% salicylic acid on my face daily to combat the acne. I got a whole face of chemical burns and a very damaged acid mantle. It’s been over a year now but my face is still so tanned?

Should I focus on treating my acne first and worry about getting my original skin tone back later? Can I do both at the same time?

I am currently using Cerave moisturizer and Derma E mineral sunscreen spf 30 in the day. At night I use differin 0.1% and Cerave moisturizer.

I want to add in TO niacinamide and TO glycolic toner since those worked for me before I burned my face. I also really liked TO ascorbyl glucoside 12%. But I’m so scared of adding anything to my very simple routine since my face feels so sensitive and vulnerable.
